Our Policy's
Our Matting Policy:
Our main priority for your dog is for them to be comfortable and happy. We will not cause your dog pain or discomfort. If your dog is extremely matted, we will have to clip your dog short to ensure their welfare as de-matting can be painful and can cause stress.
There is potential for skin issues if you dog has matting, it can hide various things like wounds, infections and parasites which may need veterinary attention. We are not liable for the discovery of these issues.
Very tight mats of ears and tails can result in hematomas. Tight matting can restrict blood flow to these areas and releasing them can cause the blood vessels to burst (hematomas). We would advise you take your dog to the vets if this happens. We are not liable for any hematomas that may occur.
Owners are reminded that it is their responsibility to maintain their dogs coat between each grooming session, to prevent matting.
Extra charges will occur in sever matting cases, as they take more time and can damage equipment. This will be an Extra £15.
We will discuss with you our policy and give information to help prevent matting in future. It is much more beneficial for your dog’s welfare and the condition of your dog’s coat to clip it off and start again.
Muzzle Policy:
We may have to use a muzzle to help keep ourselves and your dog safe. If we need to use a muzzle, we will use a basket type muzzle that your dog can breathe, drink and accept treats through, these muzzles will help prevent overheating and distress while keeping everyone safe. Our main priority is the welfare of your dog, so your dog will never be left unattended while wearing a muzzle. A muzzle is for safety, it is not a punishment, and will only be used when it is necessary and it will be removed when the grooming is finished.
The use of a muzzle will manage risk, but it will not solve the underlying issue and further training or a vet assessment may be needed to help your dog as they may be fearful or in pain.
It is important to muzzle train a dog as you may never know when it is needed.
